8.4m Diameter Roundhouse Classroom
A joint construction project with Bayly & Associates Pty Ltd (Architect & Project Managers) of Mittagong NSW, the goal for the Aurora Southern Highlands Steiner School was to create a natural timber look and feel to both the interior and exterior of the classroom. Beautifully clad in Western Red Cedar, double glazed timber framed windows, extractor fans to the Cupola and a double layer of pine lining over the insulation to the floors and wall linings were selected to increase the thermal efficiency properties of the building. With an added focus on “relocatable” this 8.4m diameter Roundhouse classroom was engineered to enable the relocation of the building to another site in the future. Right down to the pre moulded Add-A-Bathroom Units, the structure has been designed for a simple dismantling and re-assembly process.
